Here metareality is considered as reality, one way or another consisting of different realities, which can manifest itself at some unified (generalised, “glued”, aggregated, compressed, etc.) level or meta-level. An example is augmented reality or mixed reality outside of a digital context. More details in other sections of the site.

The photographs presented figuratively illustrate the idea of metareality. At the same time, these photos are non-standard, part of them were successfully exhibited at the National Geographic Russia photo hosting and/or other well-known photo sites.

The photos were prepared for viewing on monitors such as "professional color". For viewing on conventional monitors, it is recommended to select a mode with a resolution of 1024:768 (if supported by the monitor) and the highest color rendering quality, indicate the "true size" without stretching or reducing the photos, and use average brightness and contrast values.

## The author's comment

During shooting, only the standard settings of a conventional camera were used. Editing was carried out through the regulation of brightness and contrast or was not carried out at all. In some cases, it was necessary to strengthen the weakly visible. Invisible was not filmed.

Photos "Autumn Evening impressionism", "Indian Summer in Elk Island" and "Magic Mirror" may resemble photo collages, although they are not.

It is believed that the vision of Claude Monet was due to the peculiarities of his vision. However, in the photo presented the dark-white sky and the dark-white surface of the river, which corresponds to a clear autumn evening in the middle lane, and real impressionism do adjoin. This photograph is best viewed a little from afar - like a painting picture.

### Indian Summer in Elk Island

In the “Indian Summer in Elk Island” photograph, purple rays are as if smeared on top of a green forest and the usual color of the sun.

### Magic Mirror

In the swamp (“Magic Mirror”) much more green is reflected than it is on the bark of trees (it was filmed in the middle of a non-abnormal winter), as if in winter a certain state of the summer period was reflected.

### Magic. Other Worlds

“Other Worlds”: there were no raindrops, the lens “didn’t draw,” but the survey was carried out over a huge reservoir. It was as if a "selection" of locations of the sun were discovered - a "singularity ... ".

### Magic. Piercing Sunset

"Piercing Sunset". It is seen how the bright sun can distort objects in visual perception (notably the railing). "Gravity ... ".

### Michelle

"Michelle" looks dense and not quite dense (no sun). With a "fluctuation part of the density ... ".

### Sketch. February's Elk Island

The February and May sketches (with, and without sun), as it were, emphasize the extent to which our world is far from straight lines and, perhaps, not entirely three-dimensional. About "2.5D"?

### Sunseekers

Among sunseekers, the large cloud on the right resembles two faces (face images) with chins to each other, the seagull is partly translucent, the leaves are as if in blood vessels, and one leaf looks like a little animal. A "polymorphism." Very flat photo.

Singularity, gravity, constant density & fluctuation density, 2.5D, polymorphism (e.g.) may be associated with a manifestation of metareality.

## Tale series

### Tale. Early Spring. Morning

In the springtime tale, a small section of the upper branch of the tree leaves the frame and returns, and we can well figure out how this section should look like, understanding that this is the same branch. However, if a significant portion of an object cannot fit in the frame (or in the “frame”), then even if it “returns”, we will be unaware of what the object can actually consist of, since we will lose, possibly, a substantial part of it.

### Tale. Forest's Fairyland

The summer (forest) tale photo has a “retracting” effect, as if inviting to enter. Just as it happened with what it displays. Optimally free space as a possible prosaic explanation.

### Tale. Silver River

In the photograph “Silver River” (“Autumn Tale”) is the same river as in the previous plot. However, the space (see above) is as if covered, and there is no “retracting” effect.

### Tale. Winter Fairyland

The "Winter Fairyland" resembles an iridescent crystal structure. Here you can see different directions that could be followed, and they have different effects. Some of them are retracting, some are stopping, and we do not know exactly from where and to where the river flows.

We are part of nature, and our freedom of choice is limited by its capabilities. We believe that we make our choice on our own or under the influence of circumstances that we can comprehend, but perhaps we obey the general laws here, for example, make an attempt to optimally expand ... . Somewhere close to our usual reality, there is at least one more.

## Towards technological series

Can reality, for example, be simultaneously black & white and color? Why not. Uneven lighting under the setting sun may make sure that the brightest areas at some point turn out to be colored, while less bright areas lose their saturation. When photographing the Blue Autumn, the author had to “hunt” for a moment for a long time. Blue hues are due to the angle of shooting, when objects through the lens appear blue or purple, and this is also reality ("behind the glass"). On the other hand, for Mirage photography, a similar effect was achieved by simply reducing the color saturation when editing a color photograph, which, however, corresponded to some point that the author was tired of waiting for.

### Technological. Mirage

How could one combine what is usually remote from each other? As an example, the southern lotuses in a metropolis with harsh winters ("Study with Withering Lotuses"), and banks of the river with partially geterogenious vegetation ("The Bridge" - Elk Island again). In the first case, it was required that the seeds of migratory ducks from the southern edges be brought into the pond. In the second case - connect the two banks (in a suitable place).

### Technological. The Bridge

Very figuratively, however, one can expect a certain natural phenomenon for a long time, but one can choose the conditions for observing it without directly reproducing it, moreover, not using conventional modelling, but through some desynchronization. Different technologies.

### The Apprehension

In the Apprehension photograph, the movement of the medium (wind) creates the possibility for the motion of stationary objects (trees below) and, as it were, coordinated behavior of all image objects. The movement of a medium like a river ...

### The River of Time

"The River of Time" under translucent ice is, as it were, in several states. The river flows and changes take place, the river is constrained by the same ice, the river flows and does not flow. From which observation point to look, and what kind of experience the observer has. And if, for example, he (she) does not know what a river might look like ...

### View of the Yauza

"View of the Yauza". Impressionism joins again. In "The Ducks" it wins. Similar kind of lighting (see "Autumn Evening ... ).

### White Square

"White Square" happened when shooting a forest landscape. 7 k of white colour here cover a large volume "behind the scenes". White color contains other colors. From white light or through it, you can obtain normal, abnormal, and other spectra, as well as see what is possible to see in principle. Meta-level again.

Does "our" world come about thanks to the "upper" world?

### Within the Shadow of the Trees

“Within the Shadow of the Trees”, if you look at the image of the sun, after a few seconds you can see that the light is as if emitted in portions: in the visual perception, there is some movement in the photo. If this does not happen, then you need to slightly increase the brightness of the monitor.

An information copy of an object can also have a "life" - while this life is "read". At the meta-level - in one or another version of it - the information component is very pronounced, and an observer may be needed for its successful functioning.

The upper world without us, or without the our world, will not do too? Upper world as a shadow of our world, or vice versa?
